When Diane was 7-years old, her father, a retired Lt Col in the US Marine Corp, founded a communications IT consulting firm upon his retirement from the military. Building from his network within the Defense Department, he grew his organization, Cencor, to a multi-million-dollar firm supporting multiple government contracts throughout her childhood. Diane had the chance over multiple summers to work within her father's office with work ranging from office manager to administrative assistant at the Defense Information Systems Agency, and through those roles and interactions, Diane had the opportunity to learn and watch her father grow and lead his organization from a handful of staff to a full organization throughout the DC area. Once Diane was settled and working on her MS in Chemical Engineering at NC State, he sold Cencor and retired to Florida with her mother where they still reside. Since then, he has enjoyed watching his grandchildren be born and supporting Diane throughout her career.

  Upon graduating from NC State, Diane had a strong pull to the pharmaceutical industry through both her undergraduate and graduate research. Starting in cleaning and process validation, she gradually moved her way to compliance remediation and quality within both start-up and large pharmaceutical firms. Not knowing much about the industry as she progressed, Diane's father still engaged with the work she was doing and slowly began encouraging her to consider a role in her own consulting firm as she stepped into higher roles within organizations. As she deliberated the final push after 20 years to launch, her father provided the needed guidance and encouragement to take the leap. When deciding on a name for our organization, Diane wanted to honor her father's company given his support and inspiration and asked to use that first part of his company name to build her own brand. Excited to have her follow in his entrepreneurial footsteps, he quickly agreed, and CenPharma was born
